History of Ballpoint Pens
When it comes to ballpoint pens, everyone knows that although this pen head looks very small and simple, the materials used should not be too expensive. After all, the cost is there. But if you want to say that ballpoint pen heads are really more difficult to build than nuclear bombs, and ballpoint pen manufacturers are mainly concentrated in three countries, will you believe it?

From the Middle Ages to 1800, the main writing style of Europeans was quill. And in general, the adsorption capacity in the middle of the feather tube will be used to stop the ink temporarily, thus delaying people's writing time. But people will find that there are many disadvantages of feather pen, such as: too thin pen is difficult to grasp, too little ink storage, some words are big, some are thick, very ugly, so people are eager to wait for the optimization of the pen.

In 1888, the concept of ballpoint pen was first put forward in the United States. At that time, a designer specially studied how the "pen" could better meet people's writing requirements. So after years of research, a designer named John finally put forward the concept of ballpoint pen, and since then, there has been an international market for ballpoint pen.

But although John designed the ballpoint pen at that time, he didn't get the investment from the capitalists. So in a short period of time, not many people like to use ballpoint pen, most people still use traditional feather pen. Until 1945, there was another American inventor named Renault, who put forward some new design ideas on the basis of John's ballpoint pen, and also attracted some capitalist businessmen to make joint investment and popularize ballpoint pen in a large area.

Finally, under the capital operation, ballpoint pen has become a popular pen in the United States. In 1950, the price of the most common ballpoint pen in the U.S. market was around $10, which shows its high popularity. The ballpoint pen, which gradually came out of the American market, was later loved by French businessmen. French businessmen have introduced the production concept and sales methods of ballpoint pens to France, and continued the way of the United States.

For a time, ballpoint pen became a popular pen in France, replacing the traditional feather pen. As a result, the western countries are arranged in turn by France, and more and more people have accepted ballpoint pens and eliminated feather pens. But since 1945, although the head of ballpoint pen used by people looks very delicate, it is really a very difficult thing to make it.

Some people jokingly said: "it's more difficult to make ballpoint pens than nuclear bombs.". In fact, it is true. At present, only these three countries in the world can do it, and the United States is not among them. These three countries are China, Japan and Switzerland.

Since 2006, China has spent an average of more than 1.2 billion yuan on polishing the special steel of ball point pen every year, which shows that the Chinese people's attitude towards technology research has become more and more serious. Good news is constantly coming. In 2016, China produced some ball point pens with a diameter of 2.3mm, which broke through the requirements of 0.5mm and the limitation of 0.38mm, and took the lead in the international market.
